Interestingly, we find the strongest attachment to occupation among respondents from breadwinner families (25 per cent).

However, debate rages in Australia about divorced fathers’ involvement in their children’s lives. In this debate, shared care is defined as joint custody after divorce. A recent inquiry into child custody conducted by the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Family and Community Affairs attracted over 1700 submissions (HRSCFCA 2003).
